At the end of each class, students take a multiple-choice test. Students need a score of 80% to pass. More than 99% of students pass the test the first time they complete it. Students who fail may retake the test as many times until they pass the test. The test is designed to reinforce the learning process. It is not used to exclude students from the alcohol industry.

A MAST Permit is required for anyone who serves, mixes, or sells alcohol in Washington for On-Premise consumption.
The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (WSLCB) requires a MAST Permit for:
A Class 12 Permit is for those 21 or older and allows full alcohol service. Class 13 is for ages 18–20 and allows limited service. A+ Server Education’s MAST Permit course is designed for both permits. You will be issued the permit based on your age upon course completion.

A Washington MAST Permit is valid for five years from the date you pass the final exam. It expires on the first day of the month after the month you passed your exam. For example, if you took the exam on August 24th, your permit would expire on September 1st, five years later.
It’s important to note that MAST permits are not renewable. You’ll need to retake the course to obtain a new permit after it expires. To avoid any lapse in your certification, it’s recommended to take a new course 45 days before your current permit expires.

The Washington State Liquor Cannabis Board requires us to provide a proof of completion as soon as the student completes the training course. We also have to mail the official MAST Permit to you by postal mail. Your proof of completion can be used to show you have completed the required training until you receive the official permit in the mail. At this time the state does not allow any digital or copies of the MAST Permit this is why we have to physically mail it to the student.
