Do I need this course to serve alcohol in Michigan?
The Michigan Liquor Control Commission (MLCC) requires liquor license holders to schedule each shift at least one seller or server who has completed an alcohol training course that meets the commission’s standards. Our MLCC-approved training course is designed for servers, bartenders, doormen, bouncers, and other professionals seeking certification to sell alcohol on- or off-premises.
How long is my Michigan Alcohol Server Certification good for?
The certification is valid for 3 years from the date you complete the course and pass the final exam.
How long does the Michigan alcohol training course take to finish?
This course takes approximately two hours to finish. Take it at your own pace and on your schedule. Because there are no timers, you can finish quickly. Many students complete the course in just one day.
Do I need to take the whole course in one sitting?
No, you do not need to take the entire course at one time. You may take as many breaks as you would like throughout the course. Just make sure you log out prior to exiting out of the course. Note: Your progress automatically saves every time you complete a module section.
Is this course approved by the state of Michigan?

Is there a final exam for Michigan alcohol server certification?
Yes, there is a final exam at the end of the course with no time limit. A 70% score is required to pass the final exam. You have four attempts to pass the final exam and earn your training certificate.
