Florida Responsible Vendor FAQ
  • What is covered in the Florida Alcohol Certified Server Training

In this course, you will learn how to be a responsible server and seller of alcohol. You will understand how alcohol affects the body, how to recognize its effects on your customers, and when to intervene if a customer has had too much to drink. You will also learn how to check IDs, recognize minors, and use identification accurately. By the end of the program, you will know how to protect yourself and your establishment from liability.

  • Do you need a license to bartend in Florida

Alcohol server training is not mandatory in the state of Florida, but your employer may require a Florida Responsible Vendor training certification. Many businesses that serve alcohol in Florida are obligated to have liability insurance, and numerous insurance companies stipulate that their employees complete an alcohol server certification course. This training helps mitigate liability issues and protects the company from potential lawsuits.

  • How long do I have to complete the training course?

You have 30 days to complete the course after purchasing. If you do not pass within this timeframe, you will need to contact us so we can reset your account to repurchase the training.

  • What happens if I do not have the Florida Responsible Vendor Certification?

The establishment is at a higher risk of suspension or revocation of their liquor license if there were an alcohol-related incident. Establishments without the Florida Responsible Vendor training may also pay higher liability insurance premiums and higher fines and penalties.
