How Old Do You Have To Be To Serve or Sell Alcohol In Florida?
The minimum age to serve alcohol in Florida is 18 years of old or older in the sale, preparation, or service of alcoholic beverages in a licensed On-premise Establishment.
A 16-year-old can sell off-sale for grocery stores, drug stores, and other Off-Premise beer and wine licenses. There are several rules and requirements for selling under the age of 18.

Can I Sell Or Serve Alcohol With A Felony In Florida?
No. It is illegal for any vendor licensed under the beverage law to employ anyone as a manager, person in charge, or bartender if that individual has been convicted of a felony in this state, any other state, or the United States within the last five years.
How Long Does It Take To Get A Florida Bartending License?
Florida responsible vendor does not have a specific time requirement for the training course. Our course is designed to be self-paced and can be completed in approximately one hour.
How Long Is A Florida Alcohol Server Certification Valid?
Upon completing our course, your Florida responsible vendor certification also known as a Florida Bartending License will be valid for 3 years.
How Do I Renew My Florida Alcohol Certification?
To renew your certificate before it expires, you must purchase and retake the Florida bartender training course.
What is covered in the Florida Alcohol Certified Server Training
In this course, you will learn how to be a responsible server and seller of alcohol. You will understand how alcohol affects the body, how to recognize its effects on your customers, and when to intervene if a customer has had too much to drink. You will also learn how to check IDs, recognize minors, and use identification accurately. By the end of the program, you will know how to protect yourself and your establishment from liability.
Do you need a license to bartend in Florida
Alcohol server training is not mandatory in the state of Florida, but your employer may require a Florida Responsible Vendor training certification. Many businesses that serve alcohol in Florida are obligated to have liability insurance, and numerous insurance companies stipulate that their employees complete an alcohol server certification course. This training helps mitigate liability issues and protects the company from potential lawsuits.
How long do I have to complete the training course?
You have 30 days to complete the course after purchasing. If you do not pass within this timeframe, you will need to contact us so we can reset your account to repurchase the training.
What happens if I do not have the Florida Responsible Vendor Certification?
The establishment is at a higher risk of suspension or revocation of their liquor license if there were an alcohol-related incident. Establishments without the Florida Responsible Vendor training may also pay higher liability insurance premiums and higher fines and penalties.
